4. The way forward:
Rapid advancements in technology have helped the construction industry to make a steady progress over time. The latest trend in the construction industry is to use a sophisticated aluminium formwork system for erecting buildings. This is an advanced technology which is very different from the traditional method of using bricks, cement and sand for the construction of the commercial and residential buildings.
The concept of using the aluminium formwork was pioneered Mivan Company Limited, and the technology has become famous as “Mivan Shuttering” thereafter. The technology is somewhat simple to understand, but has revolutionized the construction industry across the world. Mivan Shuttering has drastically brought down the time taken to construct the buildings, and is a huge leap forward in providing affordable housing to the masses within a short span of time.
What Is Mivan Shuttering?
Instead of constructing the building brick by brick in the traditional way, Mivan Shuttering uses prefabricated aluminium frames as the building blocks for the building. At the very beginning, these frames are erected at the site of the construction, according to the architectural design of the building. Thereafter, a mixture of fly ash, concrete and cement are filled into these aluminium blocks to construct the walls. Finally, a substantial amount of pressure is applied to solidify the mixture and get the blocks ready. Buildings that are built using this technology are more robust, have high earthquake resistance and are smoother and more beautiful than the buildings made of bricks.
Needless to say, this technology has become very popular across the world, and is rapidly catching up in India too. Developers across South India have been using this technology for some time now, and those in Northern and Western India are also catching up with the trend steadily.
The Need For Special Distribution Boards
Since this method of construction is quite different from the traditional method, the other essential ingredients for construction, especially the electrical systems had to be modified suitably. As you know, the distribution box is one of the most important components the any electrical system of any building. It divides the electrical circuit into several subsidiary circuits and provides the necessary protection to the wires, so that the chance of a short-circuit or fire is eliminated. It houses the fuse or Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB), which is one of the most important components of the electrical system. The MCB trips in case of any electrical malfunctioning, thereby insulating the house from any damages.
In the traditional construction method, walls are constructed using bricks and then holes are cut into them to make the necessary space for placing the distribution boards. However, this is not a possibility in case of Mivan Shuttering.
The walls that are constructed using Mivan Shuttering are extremely hard, and using a chisel and hammer to carve out any holes in the wall after fabrication is strictly not recommended. Hence, the electrical wiring system, especially the distribution box has to be placed appropriately on the frame before the mixture of fly ash and concrete is applied.
Needless to say, the distribution box therefore has to be strong and robust enough to withstand the pressure and the hammering that is applied to solidify the wall. The traditional distribution boards are simply unable to handle this pressure. Therefore, there was a need for introducing special distribution boards for these types of walls.
Distribution Boards From C&S Electric, For Mivan Shuttering
C&S Electric, a renowned brand of electrical equipment in India has spotted this growing need of the construction industry and come up with a series of ground breaking distribution boards for the prefabricated buildings. It is one of the first companies to introduce these innovative products into the Indian markets. These distribution boards are of very high quality, pressure resistant and are highly durable.
At present, C&S Electric has introduced two versions of these distribution boards:
- Distribution boards with 75 mm thickness for walls that are 85mm thick, and
- An 85mm version for walls with 100 mm thickness.
These boards are specially designed to allow enough room for the MCB and the wires to fit in perfectly. It also allows the hinges of the door covering the distribution box to operate without any hindrance. These are stylish and can withstand extreme pressures, ensuring that they do not bend or buckle when pressure is applied to the walls during the construction process.
The way forward:
C&S Electric has always been responsive to the emerging needs of the construction industry. As the industry matures and new trends develop, it will continue to innovate and introduce new products into the market at the earliest. In the coming days, you can expect more search in-demand products from the company which you can trust and incorporate in your construction projects.
