JOSH has been working in the resettlement colonies of Trilokpuri and Kalyan puri in East Delhi, to spread awareness of RTI as well as enhancing employability skills among the youth. Also spreading awareness of various social issues like gender equality, girl education, girl employment etc.
Since the last four years JOSH has been hosting a community theatre festival in Trilokpuri. After the overwhelming response of last year, JOSH is hosting ‘Aaina 2015’ this year on the 14th of February 2015.
The main aim of this festival is to voice issues of social importance among communities in ways that not only entertain them but also make them aware. Hosted among one of the largest resettlement colonies and slums of East Delhi, Trilokpuri and Kalyanpuri, this event has left a mark in the minds of people. This theatre festival has been one of the trend setters by bringing together theatre groups from different colleges, professional groups as well as community based theatre groups. Through this festival, we raised several key concerns like, female feticide, domestic violence, corruption, communal riots etc. The festival seeks to be both informative and entertaining.
