Cable Short Circuit & Earth Fault Passage Indicator: CSFPI (EFPI)
FEATURES
CSFPI, Fault Passage Indicator, is designed to detect and indicate an Earth fault on a cable system, in RMU networks with one input / open ring arrangement. The product is powered by the Internal Battery only. The unit will indicate a fault condition when current is detected above set trip current settings. Fault current is sensed by cable cable-mounted sensor, which gives a signal to the indication unit. The sensor must be mounted on a screened cable and can be retrofitted on the cable.
C&S Electric CSFPI (Cable Short Circuit & Earth Fault Passage Indicator) devices offer significant benefits, primarily focused on reducing power outage time, simplifying maintenance, and enhancing the reliability of electrical distribution networks.
The C&S make CSFPI (Earth Fault Passage Indicator) quick fault identification to reduce downtime, and various flexible reset options. Key advantages are its programmability for setting trip levels and response delays, automated fault indication via a blinking LED, and a design suitable for underground cable systems within Ring Main Units (RMUs).
- Identify the location of earth faults in cable systems and RMU networks, drastically reducing the time required to restore power and improving the reliability and efficiency of the power supply.
- The cable-mounted sensors are designed for easy installation and can be retrofitted.
- Allows users to customise fault detection with a programmable trip current level and a programmable response delay for the earth fault.
- Relay can be reset manually via a push button, automatically after a preset time, or by the recovery of external voltage, providing flexibility for different fault scenarios.
- The units are typically battery-powered, with a long lifespan, ensuring continuous monitoring without the need for an external auxiliary power supply.
- Features a blinking LED for a clear visual indication of an earth fault condition.
- Provides a built-in functional test that can be initiated by pressing the push button for a set duration.
